the inspiring comeback of brendan fraser
Just a few hours back, Brendan Fraser won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in The Whale.
Sure, I had wondered about the disappearance of Brendan Fraser sporadically over the past years, but I didn’t pay much attention to his story and the underlying reasons. Until now.
I used to think it was one of those nothing-fails-like-success stories. But boy, I was wrong.
As I learned more about Brendan Fraser’s past struggles and his iconic Oscar win yesterday (I encourage you to read his story too!), the only phrase that came to my mind is this one: “It ain't over till it's over.”
You’ve got to fight and persevere. You’ve got to overcome your wounds — personal and professional — heal, and spring back at the first opportunity.
You’ve got to let go of your past laurels and keep working hard and keep moving forward regardless of the ups and downs you face.
You’ve got to believe that what you’ve achieved was only the tip of the iceberg. There are way bigger and better accomplishments waiting for you in the future.
You’re not done and dusted. There’s still a long way to go. Because you were worthy, you are worthy, and you’ll always be worthy, no matter what.
