seeking love

We all go through phases in our lives when we encounter a scarcity of love. It’s like walking a desert looking for an oasis of love. And our search seems to never end.

As we face the crisis of love, a potent solution is to change our approach and do a complete 180 degree turn. Instead of seeking love, we can start giving it away. As the Stoic philosopher Hecato said, “I can teach you a love potion made without any drugs, herbs, or special spell — if you would be loved, love.”

Love is within us, we just need to generate it.

It can be challenging to go through the barriers that we put around ourselves but in order to receive love, we need to give love first.

The more we give, the more we get — this applies for love as well. As the Beatles pointed out, “In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.”

Just love, love, love, because love makes things better in every sphere of our life. When we bring empathy, acceptance, appreciation and understanding to any situation — even an ugly one — we make it better.

There’s no point wandering around in the forlorn, dry desert with a heart burdened with hatred and grudges. Let them go.

Just make love within you and start giving it away.
