see yourself as deserving of money
One of the major blocks that people have about making money is their subconscious programming that they don’t deserve it. They tell themselves in a thousand different ways that they’re not enough — not smart enough, not capable enough, not educated enough, not experienced enough, not attractive enough, not influential enough… you get the picture.
If you have such a block and you constantly use an excuse or rationalization that prevents you from creating a bigger and better income, then you must challenge and act against this recurring pattern immediately.
Just do a simple exercise right now. Take a pen and paper, and write down all the things that you think are preventing you from making more money. Once you are done, tear that piece of paper and throw it in the trash can. You can also light it and throw the burning paper in the toilet and flush it away for dramatic effect.
Now, take a fresh piece of paper and write down all the reasons you deserve money. Be open and honest. Here are some examples:
- I deserve money because I’m incredibly intelligent and resourceful.
- I deserve money because abundance is my birthright.
- I deserve money because I know how I can use it to serve humanity and improve people’s lives.
- I deserve money because I pour my heart and soul into my craft and my creations.
- I deserve money because I have a strong work-ethic and outstanding integrity.
If you desire a fatter paycheck every month, you must look at yourself in a positive light. You must believe that you’re enough as you are and you deserve an honorable income in exchange for the service and/or goods that you provide.
As Brian Tracy advises, “The starting point of accumulating money is for you to believe in yourself. You have an unlimited capacity to obtain all the money that you will ever need. Look at yourself as a financial success waiting for a place to happen. And see yourself as deserving all you can acquire.”
