never feel alone or abandoned
Norman Vincent Peale once wrote that he always carried a card with him in his pocket. The following five statements were written on it:
The light of God surrounds me
The love of God enfolds me
The power of God protects me
The presence of God watches over me
Wherever I am, God is!
This card acted as a constant reminder that no matter the circumstances he found himself in, God was right beside him giving him strength and guidance.
He explained, “Why do I carry this card? Because the image that it evokes of a loving, caring God is the perfect antidote to fear, to worry, to anxiety, to just about every problem under the sun. Whenever I’m troubled, I take that card out and let it remind me that there is an all-powerful Being in the universe who loves me and who is only a prayer away.”
The love of God is an unwavering force that surrounds us like an invisible embrace. It is not confined to the walls of a church or the silence of a prayer; rather, it permeates every corner of our lives. Picture God as a constant companion, a Divine Being that we can talk to at any moment — this will ensure that we need never feel abandoned or alone. The more intensely and consistently we visualize this image, the more relaxed and peaceful we’ll become, and the more joy and bliss we’ll bring into our lives.
We don't have to be in a sacred place or engage in elaborate rituals to feel God’s presence. It's as close as our own heartbeat, as near as our next breath.
Unlike human relationships that may ebb and flow, God's love is steadfast and unchanging. It doesn't depend on our achievements or our mistakes; it simply is. In moments of joy, God's love celebrates with us. In times of sorrow, it offers solace and comfort. This love is not conditional—it doesn't come with a list of requirements or expectations. It's freely given, a gift that we need only accept.
At times, the challenges of life may lead us to question whether the Creator of the universe truly loves us and cares about us. In moments of despair, it's important to remember that even in the darkest corners of our existence, the light of God's grace shines. We may not always understand why certain things happen, but we can find reassurance in the belief that we are not abandoned.
Always keep in mind that the love of God is available to each and every one of us, no matter where we are on our life's journey. Let this idea be a source of profound comfort and reassurance under all circumstances.
