I have made some changes in my morning routine and here’s my new routine as of now in brief. I hope it inspires you to start your own morning routine – a series of rituals that work best for you and optimize your fitness and productivity for the day ahead.

  • Wake up at 4.30-4.45 AM (on most days, I wake up by 5 AM; I may wake up a little later if the previous day was hectic and I slept too late due to work or other demands.)
  • Saying either “Thank you” or a spiritual mantra as I place my feet on the floor
  • Switch off the alarm and freshen up in the restroom
  • Read morning affirmations
  • Go to the balcony for sky gazing (enjoying the early morning vibe and appreciating nature)
  • A mini prayer and offering gratitude to the Divine
  • Listening to motivational tracks while brushing teeth
  • Heating water in the microwave. As the water warms up, I do some stretching and basic exercises for a couple of minutes.
  • Add a herbal/Ayurvedic juice (Amla juice, Aloe vera juice, or any other herbal concoction) to water
  • Do pranayama (breathing exercises) followed by drinking herbal water and meditation for around 20 minutes
  • Going to my home workstation and firing up my laptop computer while listening to spiritual music
  • Reading the Bhagavad Gita (one or more translations)
  • Reading spiritual books for around 10 minutes (on my phone and/or laptop)
  • Reading personal or professional development books for around 20 minutes (on my phone and/or laptop)
  • Start my 90-minute jam session right away (Mainly focused on writing content for my next book and blog). I also take 5 minutes in between to prepare my morning cup of joe (Can’t do it without coffee! :) )
  • Gratitude journaling for around 5 minutes
  • Morning recalibration: Going through my “Statement of Purpose” and other important goal-oriented documents
  • Performing some light exercises and a short walk (mostly indoors) while consuming more personal development/motivational and spiritual content
  • Making my bed, meditating on some mantras, minimal household cleaning
  • A light cardio and morning yoga fitness ritual
  • Shower, dressing up, praying session, having breakfast while listening to podcasts (optional), followed by reading a few daily devotional books (I skip reading them if I’m short on time, and make sure I read them the next day without fail.)
  • Watching DarrenDaily (Darren Hardy’s morning mentoring sessions) and morning journaling for around 5 minutes
  • Beginning my second jam session (60-minute session) at my home workstation

Wishing you everlasting success,
Parth
