income is a by-product

Success involves going against the grain and doing the exact opposite of what other people are doing.

Our pursuit of money is an important one and we should always include it in our business equations and decisions. But it should not come before the noble pursuit of doing work that not only makes our heart sing, but also adds immense value to people and helps them alleviate their pain and eliminate one or more of their problems in some way.  

Instead of constantly worrying about how much income we’re earning, we need to start focusing on how well we are using our time, our attention and our resources to do meaningful work. Income is a by-product, not the end goal.
