focus on your diet, not the nutrients
If you really want to get in shape this year and/or improve your overall health, it’s best to avoid the “Western diet.” Numerous research studies have shown that people who avoid this type of diet as a general rule also avoid its associated health risks.
Here’s why the Western diet is a terrible choice for you. This diet largely consists of processed foods, packed with sugar, refined flour, modified vegetable oils, and other chemicals and preservatives. Along with that, it doesn’t include a sufficient amount of plant-based, whole foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains.
The practice of modifying food products in the lab to increase their nutritional value along with all the clever marketing distracts us and we start believing that the Western diet is not so bad after all. But, this is far from the truth. One of the best things that we can do for our holistic health and well-being is start following a healthy and balanced diet, with minimal to no processed foods.
To summarize, the main cause of our poor health isn’t nutrients – it’s the diet that we all choose to blindly follow.
