five things you must do every single morning
“Success in life is founded upon attention to the small things rather than to the large things.” – Booker T. Washington
Our lives are nothing but a long series of single days one after another. The sun rises, we begin our day, the sun sets, we end our day, the sun rises again and we keep repeating this cycle. And in the end, the lives we choose to live and the message that we convey to others through our fleeting existence on this planet will be determined by how we choose to spend each day.
Unfortunately, for a good chunk of our lives, most of us embrace little to no intentionality in our days. We go through the daily grind and survive each new day, but don’t give much thought to making every day count. Instead, our days just come and go and by the time we learn how to make the most of our days, much of our precious time is lost.
It’s wise to view each day as an important gift and cherish it. After all, some of us may get more days than others, but each of us has been given this one life. And we must all strive to make the most of our lives. As Abraham Lincoln once said,” In the end, it’s not the years in your life that counts. It’s the life in your years.”
We must all keep this key insight in mind: How we begin our day decides the quality of everything we do throughout the day.
Lifestyle coach, monk, and motivational speaker Gaur Gopal Das suggests the following five things to do in the morning as soon as we wake up to make the most of every single day:
- Begin your day with gratitude
- Resolve to have a positive vision
- Trust the broader plan
- Do the small things right
- Decide to help someone
