be mindful of your health
The pursuit of money, richness, and comfort is not a bad thing, but in this process, we need to be mindful of our health as well. Oftentimes when we prioritize our work assignments and other people’s needs, we end up keeping our health and well-being in the back seat.
Instead, we need to make sure that we remain healthy and fit no matter what. If you don’t take care of yourself, how will you get in a position to attend to other people’s needs? Building healthy boundaries and staying disciplined will serve us for the long-term.
As Jim Rohn remarked, “The greatest gift you can give somebody is your own personal development. I used to say, ‘If you will take care of me, I will take care of you.’ Now I say, ‘I will take care of me for you, if you will take care of you for me.'”
In order to become selfless and serve others in the best way possible, we need to become selfish and love and nurture ourselves first.
